How I Can Help

Support for the challenges life brings

There are times in life when we can feel overwhelmed, uncertain or simply no longer quite like ourselves.

Sometimes there is a clear reason — a loss, relationship difficulty, major life transition, illness, burnout or a stressful situation. At other times, we may simply know that something isn’t right without being able to put it into words.

Therapy offers a confidential and supportive space to explore what is happening, understand yourself more deeply and find ways forward.

I work with adults experiencing

  • Anxiety, stress and overwhelm
  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion
  • Depression and low mood
  • Grief, loss and life transitions
  • Relationship and family difficulties
  • Trauma and difficult past experiences
  • Self-esteem, confidence and personal growth
  • Emotional eating and difficulties with weight
  • Life changes, ageing and questions of meaning
  • Chronic illness and the emotional impact of health challenges
  • Major decisions and periods of uncertainty
  • Feeling stuck, disconnected or unsure of your direction

Support during times of change

Some of the most significant challenges in our lives occur during periods of transition.

Retirement, changing relationships, children leaving home, caring for ageing parents, illness, loss, relocation or simply reaching a stage where we begin asking “What now?” can bring unexpected emotions and questions.

These transitions can also provide an opportunity to reassess what matters to us and to create a life that feels more authentic and meaningful.

Press the circle and breathe with it.

A space to pause and reconnect

You don’t always need to arrive in therapy with a specific problem or diagnosis.

Sometimes you may simply need a safe space to stop, breathe and listen to yourself.

Together, we can explore what you are experiencing and what may help you move towards greater balance, clarity and wellbeing.

Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to have everything figured out before you reach out.

Therapeutic Approaches

An integrative approach, tailored to you

Over more than three decades as a Clinical Psychologist, I have worked with many different people, life circumstances and therapeutic needs.

I have found that therapy is most effective when it is individualised rather than formulaic. For this reason, I draw from a range of psychological and body–mind approaches and integrate them according to the person sitting in front of me.

There is no need for you to know which approach you need. That is something we can explore together.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy provides a confidential space to understand yourself, your emotions, relationships and life experiences more deeply.

Depending on your needs, our work may focus on a current difficulty or explore longer-standing patterns that may be influencing the way you experience yourself and your relationships.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness can help us develop a different relationship with our thoughts, emotions and physical sensations.

Rather than becoming caught up in difficult thoughts or feelings, we can learn to observe them with greater awareness and compassion.

Mindfulness can be particularly helpful in working with stress, anxiety, emotional regulation and overall wellbeing.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses focused attention and a deeply relaxed state to facilitate therapeutic change.

It can be helpful in accessing inner resources, changing unhelpful patterns, strengthening positive beliefs and supporting emotional healing.

Hypnotherapy is integrated into psychotherapy where I believe it may be beneficial, rather than being used as a stand-alone technique.

Body–Mind Approaches

Our psychological and physical experiences are closely connected.

Body–mind approaches can help us become more aware of how stress, emotions and past experiences may be reflected in the body, while developing greater regulation, grounding and a sense of inner safety.

Brain Working Recursive Therapy

‘BWRT®’ stands for ‘Brain Working Recursive Therapy®’, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. Like many other modern therapies, it allows a ‘core of privacy’ so that you do not have to divulge anything you would rather not talk about – in fact, the practitioner only needs to know how you feel and how you would prefer to feel instead.

BWRT® is a completely new and different therapy based on the latest discoveries about the way the brain works and how it affects our moods, behaviour and emotions. It does not use any concepts that might be considered mystical or unscientific. Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver B.W.R.T.® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code.

Walk & Talk Therapy

Step outside the therapy room. Walk & Talk Therapy offers a one-on-one psychotherapy session conducted while walking together through natural surroundings. Movement, nature and fresh air can open space for deeper reflection, and emotional release. Suited to processing stress, transitions, grief, or simply needing to think out loud with professional support alongside you.

Working with your strengths and inner resources

Therapy is not only about identifying what is wrong.

I believe it is equally important to recognise your existing strengths, resources, resilience and capacity for change.

Sometimes the work involves healing. Sometimes it involves learning new ways of responding. And sometimes it is about reconnecting with parts of yourself that have become lost or neglected along the way.

A gentle, collaborative process

I will never assume that one particular technique is right for everyone.

Together, we can discover what feels appropriate and useful for you, at a pace that respects your individual circumstances.

My role is not to tell you who you should be. It is to help you discover, understand and become more fully yourself.

There is no need for you to know which approach you need.

That is something we can explore together.
